Recommended vid card?
Currently I'm using a GeForce 2 MX 400 and it is quite laggy even on lowest settings so I'm deciding which video card to get. I'm seeing lots of people recommending slightly above the game's official recommended system specs as well as ATI series cards because of problems with nVidia cards with this game?
But anyway I'm not exactly on a budget but I do want 'bang for my buck' so to speak without compromising quality. I'm pretty much getting the card just for this game and won't be playing games like Doom 3 or anything so with that in mind what do you think I should get?

Also I suppose an ATI card would be better for this game as well from what other posters seem to be saying about problems with nVidia cards?

according to all the reviews the biggest bang for buck is
nvidia 6600GT hands down
you are looking at 175-220 depending on if PCI EXPRESS or AGP flavor and maker

I agree. 6800 is where it's at right now. Just make sure you get the correct one for your motherboard. (probably AGP, but maybe old PCI)

Well let me rephrase that how about the cheapest video card that can run the game on the highest settings smoothly?

6600GT as stated above... it's what I'm running and its working nicely.... I can't imagine running anything less these days.

I can, I've got a 9800 PRO, and the game is great... but I can't tell hardly any difference between it and my laptops Geforce Go 5200 FX. So I'd recommend something cheaper if you don't care about visuals as much... well not 200 dollars much.

I agree with the first poster.
I personally have a nVidia 6600GT. 128MB DDR3, clocks at 1000. Got it for just around $150 on http://www.newegg.com/ [the Leadtek one]. Runs great.
